Am Pfingstwochenende organisiert die Jane-Austen-Society in Florenz einen Ball in der Villa del Poggio Imperiale in Florenz (die Villa del Poggio Imperiale war die Residenz von Elisa Bonaparte, und hat angeblich den grössten Ballsaal von Florenz)

Das Komplette Wochenende besteht aus

Tanzkurs am Freitag
Ball am Samstag (Historische Verpflegung, 8-köpfiges Tanzorchester)
Nachmittagsveranstaltung am Sonntag

Historical Dance Master M° Donald Francis, Associate Artistic Director of L'Atelier de Danse for 25 years, will run-though the dances he will be leading at the Weekend's Events. The class will be held in L'Atelier's Dance Studio with refreshments between demonstations and practices.
A good chance to meet those coming to the Weekend Balls.

Saturday, May 22, 2010
A Grand Napoleonic Ball in Costume held at Villa del Poggio Imperiale in Florence, Italy, the residence of Napoleon's sister, Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, while she was Grand Duchess of Tuscany from 1809 till 1814.
At 7pm there will be a guided tour through her recently-restored private apartments, normally closed to the public.
At 8pm the Grand Ball will begin in the grandest Ballroom in Florence. An 8-piece orchestra will accompany the dances of the period under the direction of Mr. James Gray. M° Donald Francis will lead the dancing.
A Buffet Froid with dishes of the Florentine Court will be served at 11pm in the Galleria.
Carriages at 2am.

Sunday, May 23, 2010
A day at Villa Gerini on the outskirts of Florence.
This grand family home and its magnificent gardens are the perfect setting for a relaxing Sunday in Regency costume!!
At 3pm the Day will begin with a stroll round the lake and games of cricket, croquet and quoits.
At 5pm a scrumptious afternoon tea will be served in the gardens.
At 6pm there will be a tour of the villa and time to freshen up, change attire and slip on those dancing shoes.
At 8pm the REGENCY BALL will begin with dances that Jane Austen would have danced, led by M° Donald Francis.
At 10.30pm a Buffet Froid with Regency dishes will be served.
Card tables will be set up for passionate players.

Wie ist das eigentlich jetzt mit dem Ostello, hast Du schon reserviert Hitomi oder muss das noch jeder selber machen? Ich bin noch etwas neujahresverpeilt und hab noch nicht wieder so den Überblick
